Old Memories and Young Hopes

A couple of days ago I finished two new collages that represent the fortune found in a cookie. Here is one.

The fortune read "we must have old memories and young hopes." Without any doubt it is a beautiful and meaningful phrase.

I used an image of an old man, as well as paper and wood.

Hace un par de días termine dos nuevos collages (éste es uno de ellos) que repesenta la fortuna que encontré en una galleta . "Tenemos que tener viejos recuerdos y jóvenes esperanzas", sin duda alguna esta es una hermosa y significativa frase.

En mi representación use una foto de un hombre que encontré, papel y madera.

 

My grasshopper

This little animal is not exactly similar to real grasshoppers, but I made him thinking about the grasshoppers I saw as a child. It is made out of cardboard and paper.

Mi pequeño animal no es exactamente igual a los saltamontes reales, pero lo hice inspirada en los que vi cuando era una niña.

El material que utilicé fue cartón y papel.

La Reina del sur

Two weeks ago I finished reading "La Reina del Sur" in Spanish. It has been a long time since I read something in that language. And I have to say that to read this book was a pleasant surprise. It was more interesting that I thought at the beginning of the book.

The story concerns the life of a Mexican girl finding her way into the drug traffic world. I could write a review, but it will be best if  you read it. You won't be disappointed.

Hace dos semanas termine de leer "La Reina del Sur". Y tengo que decir que realmente disfruté de este libro.

Cuenta la historia de una chica mexicana en el mundo del narcotráfico. Podría escribir una crítica del libro pero será mejor si lo leen. No se decepcionarán.

poetry can change the world...

Because whatever happens, our essence is intact.

We are humans full of possibilities.

Life is desert and oasis, it pulls us down, hurts us,

teaches us, makes us into the stars of 

our own story...

Even if the wind blows against us,

the powerful work continues.

You can contribute a stanza.

Never stop dreaming,

because in dreams people are free.

In our trip to unknown places, we visited Mono Lake, 

a mystic inland sea where submarine creatures created their castles.

En nuestro viaje por lugares desconocidos , visitamos Mono Lake, 

un misterioso mar interior donde creatures submarinas crearon sus castillos. 

PALABRAS...

PORQUE ES SOLO UNA..

Siempre lo digo...

es fundamental en este viaje llamado Vida...

el corazón siente un impulso... un instante...

un rumbo... hay que seguirlo...

Ve tras tus sueños! Feliz Vida!

Aprovecha el día...

No dejes que termine sin haber alimentado tus sueños.

No permitas que nadie te quite el derecho

de expresarte, que es casi un deber.

No abandones tus ansias de hacer

de tu vida algo extraordinario.

No dejes de creer que las palabras y

la poesía sí pueden cambiar el mundo...

Porque pase lo que pase, nuestra esencia está intacta.

Somos seres humanos llenos de caminos.

La vida es desierto y oasis, nos derriba, nos lastima,

nos enseña, nos convierte en protagonistas de 

nuestra propia historia...
