Captured Moments --Metropolitan Museum--

Please click in the images to see them bigger.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art gives you the opportunity to take thousands of pictures, and I took them, but the ones that really capture my memories of the place are these two.
The first one was taken quickly without planning. I had almost bypassed the galleries when I saw the museum monitor standing parallel to the door's frame and in the back the bright pink of the lady's skirt provoked in me an impulsive desire to capture that moment for ever. I wanted to keep the details of the man's face, his peaceful way of looking around like the way that people look when they know more than everyone else, but they prefer to keep silent and let everybody discover their own truth. I wanted to remember his face, his posture, his slow movements, his venerable soul. And for some reason he seemed to fit perfectly well with the place.
Then in a fraction of a second my eyes went to meet the almost fuschia skirt that fascinated me. Its many folds seemed to accent the intensity of the color. And coincidentally the skirt lady was standing next to the painting with the almost same pink in it.
The two main subjects of the photo were so far from each other in every aspect and at the same time they perfectly fitted together in the frame. To many coincidences one memorable moment!
The second picture was more or less planned because I was looking for the right moment to take a picture. I was standing next to that delightful sculpture enjoying every detail of it, trying to find the perfect angle to capture its movement and its joyfulness when a lady appeared behind the sculpture imitating not just the posture of the sculpture, but its deep good spirit, if I could call it that way. Because for some strange reason I felt that that inanimate figure had something that transmitted some warmness to me. And I am sure that I wasn't the only one perceiving that because that sculpture seemed to catch more attention that the rest of the amazing pieces around.
Some say that an image is worth more that a thousand words. And probably they are right, but I just wanted to share with all of you the reasons why I took these images.

Colorful Puebla

Since my return from my trip to Mexico a couple of weeks ago, I have been trying to share these colorful images of Puebla with all of you. But for some reason or another it wasn't possible until today.
When I used to live in Mexico, I remember people talking about Mexico's fearless use of colors. I never really completely realized why some people make such a big deal about that. However, now that a live in a city when the main range of colors goes from white to gray with some touches of cream and pastel colors, I clearly see why people are surprised by the vivid colors in Mexico.
In this past visit to Puebla, a city two hours away from Mexico City, my spirit rose full of energy and happiness just from walking the streets of this vigorous place. The variety of colors went from electric to aqua blues, vivacious reds to maroons, dazzling yellows to ochres, spring green to deep ocean green, flourishing pink to pale pink, every color in every shade and tone. The soul revitalizes with the beauty of colors.
